ICOMOS Lebanon brings together professionals, institutions, and supporters committed to the conservation and management of cultural heritage.
As a National Committee of ICOMOS, members are part of a global network dedicated to advancing heritage protection.

Benefits of the ICOMOS Membership Card
In addition to the numerous benefits of being a member of ICOMOS, our membership card gives members free or reduced access* to a wide range of cultural heritage places around the world.
A non-exhaustive list of the sites that grant free or reduced access to membership card holders is available, to help provide a service to ICOMOS members who are travelling.
NB: Cards must be valid for the current year
Membership Categories
ICOMOS recognizes four categories of membership:
1- Individual Members
For professionals and students with expertise in one or more areas related to cultural heritage conservation.
This includes disciplines such as:
- Architecture
- Archaeology
- Urban Planning
- Conservation Science
- Art History
- Cultural Landscape Management
- Anthropology
- Engineering
- Heritage Law and Policy
Students enrolled in relevant fields are also eligible.

2- Institutional Members
For institutions, organizations, or entities active in heritage conservation or responsible for monuments, groups of buildings, or sites.
Examples:
- Universities
- Research Institutes
- Museums
- NGOs
- Heritage Foundations
- Public Authorities

3- Affiliate Members
For individuals or organizations who support the aims of ICOMOS and wish to contribute to its mission, even if they do not meet the criteria for full membership.
This category is appropriate for:
- Supporters of heritage protection
- Cultural organizations
- Professionals in related sectors
Annual Fee: –
4- Honorary Members
Honorary membership is conferred exclusively by the ICOMOS General Assembly upon proposal of a National or International Scientific Committee.
This category is not subject to application.
Membership Process
Submit Application
Applications are submitted through our online form (see below). The required documents are:
- A completed Application Form
- An updated CV
- A Motivation Letter detailing your interest in joining ICOMOS Lebanon
- Two Endorsement Letters signed by current members of ICOMOS Lebanon
- A scanned copy of your ID or Passport
- If submitting an ID: provide both front and back sides (recto–verso).
- If submitting a passport: provide the first two pages, including the page showing the mother’s name. Ensure that all information is clear and legible in the uploaded document.
- A signed copy of the ICOMOS Ethical Principles
- An original Non-Criminal Record, issued within the last three (3) months
National Committee Review
Applications are reviewed by the Board of ICOMOS Lebanon.
Approval & Registration
If your application is approved following evaluation by the Board, you will be required to submit hard copies of all aforementioned documents.
*Members commit to respecting the ICOMOS Ethical Principles and decisions of the General Assembly and Board

Please note that applications are accepted exclusively through the online form. Submissions sent by email will not be taken into consideration.
Applications may be submitted at any time during the year.
Review and Confirmation
The Board reviews applications periodically and communicates its decision in writing. Membership is confirmed upon approval and payment of the applicable annual fee and is subsequently registered with ICOMOS.
Member Credentials
Following registration with ICOMOS International, members receive their individual credentials and instructions to activate their personal account on the ICOMOS International website. This provides access to the members’ area, including official documents, resources, and information related to international scientific committees and governance processes.
